Lazim Mohammed

Product engineer specialised in iOS.

For the past 11+ years I’ve built mobile products, mostly for iOS. Recently I worked on encrypted messaging at Meta — focused on keeping privacy strong without making the experience worse.

I grew up in Kerala, spent years in Bangalore & London, and now relocated back to Kerala.

Work

Dozen Tabs · 2026–present

Helping you keep track of your interests by converting web pages into glanceable cards with only the info you need.

Meta · Mar 2022–Jun 2026
Tech Lead, Messenger History

Helped move Facebook network messaging to default end-to-end encryption while keeping message history available across a person’s devices.

In 2024, Messenger launched default encryption for all personal messages. I led encrypted message history, where we shipped default message history sync across devices and surfaces earlier this year holding those privacy guarantees at 1.2B+ monthly-active-user scale.

Senior iOS Engineer, Workspace ONE

Built core security pieces for the iOS SDK and cross-platform Cordova plugin — Mobile SSO, PIN encryption, conditional access, and certificate pinning. Also worked on zero-code SDK injection via App Wrapping, and shipped GPS tracking and heartbeat for managed devices in Workspace ONE Hub.
